I am Brent Foster.

I have a distinctive blend of interesting and progressive experience from roles at TD Bank, Amazon, Capital One, American Express, General Dynamics, AvalonBay Communities, and some of my own entrepreneurial endeavors. I am equal parts engineering leader and hands-on builder. I tackle challenges head on and am always excited for a new opportunity. I love envisioning and developing new and exciting products and experiences through data and software.

I am currently the Software and Quality Engineering Practices Owner at TD Bank. As part of the Next Evolution of Work (NEW) transition, TD has doubled down on efforts to create enterprise-wide platforms to use the scale of the Bank to improve efficiency, move away from building one-off solutions towards a model where something is built once, used frequently across TD and evolved and improved on an ongoing basis. Leveraging agile ways of working for specific projects and pilots over the last few years, the broader enterprise transformation began in earnest in early 2021 when TD began introducing NEW processes, team designs and collaboration methods across the organization to help colleagues achieve better outcomes and meet customer needs.

As part of this transition, the Software Engineering Practice was created to:
 - Provide a world class developer experience that automates away toil to build, deploy, and operate products end-to-end
 - Adopt best in class engineering practices to drive product quality, developer velocity, and engineering collaboration
 - Create an environment and culture that attracts, develops, and retains top quality engineering talent

I'm focused on creating an environment and culture that attracts, develops, and retains top engineering talent to meet the ever-growing demands for software engineering talent throughout TD.
